OVERVIEW

Incorporating this year's "Diving into Success" school theme, our biggest fundraiser will kick off on August 24th and culminate with a fun and festive Color Run on Friday, September 18th! This year, we aim to raise $52,000 to help fund academic support, enrichment activities, classroom supplies, equipment, field trips, assemblies and so much more! Your participation is crucial to the fundraiser's success so please read below for more detailed information about this year's Color Run fundraiser. 

FUNDRAISING

We are using the awesome fundraising platform, PledgeStar, which makes it much easier for you and your student to request pledges from family and friends, and for them to make secure credit card donations online. It's fun, it's easy, and people who use it typically raise twice as much as those who don't!

🔁  Returning Registrants

Even if you registered for last year’s Color Run, you will need to register again for this year’s event.

✒  Cash or Check Donations

Please bring them to the main office in an envelope titled "Color Run" with your student's name and their teacher's name, payable to "Poinsettia PTO". Our PTO Treasurer will collect these weekly.

🎓  Note for 5th Grade Families

New to this year's Color Run, the funds that 5th grade families raise will be strategically applied towards the $400 donation requested to help cover costs for the 5th Grade Program (Outdoor Ed, 5th grade promotion, and more). The goal for each 5th grader is to raise their $400 contribution through this fundraiser, if possible. Using the Color Run PledgeStar platform, you can reach out to family, friends, and your broader community to help reach your student's $400 donation goal. PRIZING STRUCTURE

To encourage and motivate our students to be actively involved in the fundraiser, we are offering a variety of incentives including school-wide and weekly class prizes based on money raised. All students will be able to enjoy and participate in school-wide prizes for fundraising milestones reached. 🎟️  Individual Prizes

To increase donation requests sent through PledgeStar, we are offering entry into a weekly raffle. For every 5 donation requests sent on PledgeStar, a student (or the family if there are siblings) will receive one entry into the digital raffle. We are not handing out physical raffle tickets. We will pull three raffle winners each week during the fundraiser and winners will come to the office to select small prizes from our Color Run prize cart. If you have multiple students at the school and one PledgeStar donation page, the raffle entries will be per family, not per student. If your family is a raffle winner, each of your students will get to select a prize.

🏫  Classroom Prizes

Class prizes for most dollars raised will be announced for the top three classes each week of the fundraiser, based on a per capita calculation. The class prize counter resets each week and is not cumulative – this provides an opportunity for different classes to win. Please note that the class leaderboard on PledgeStar displays cumulative funds raised, so those numbers are different from what the PTO calculates for weekly class winners.
